261 families in Krishnanagar get land ownership certificates for gaun-block land

After a long wait, 261 families in Krishnanagar Municipality of Kapilvastu have received land ownership registration certificates (lalpurja) for gaun-block land.

They have obtained the lalpurja proving legal ownership of land they had long been occupying and using. Although they had been using the land, they previously had no certificate establishing legal ownership over it.

Local residents are happy to have received the lalpurja. Families who had long been waiting for the certificates have now obtained legal ownership of the land they had been using.

Municipal chief Shah said that certificates would continue to be issued progressively to the remaining gaun-block landowners within the municipality. "The process of progressively providing certificates to all gaun-block landowners within the municipality will continue," municipal chief Shah said.
