Government to spend 1.11 billion rupees to restore Singhadurbar's main building to its original form

The government is preparing to spend around 1.11 billion rupees to restore Singhadurbar's historic main building, damaged by arson during the Gen Z protests, to its original form. The structure, the country's main administrative center, is more than 120 years old.
According to the Federal Secretariat Construction and Management Office, reconstruction has been completed on three of the main building's four sections — the southern, eastern and northern blocks. About 110 million rupees have been spent on these three sections so far, said office information officer Arun Bhujel.
The western main block, considered the most complex, remains to be built, and the office's preliminary estimate puts its cost alone at nearly 1 billion rupees. Information officer Bhujel said internal preparations were underway to call for bids for that section soon after Tihar.
