Ban on discharging industrial waste into Sirsiya river during Chhath festival

Ahead of the upcoming Chhath festival, a ban is being imposed on discharging waste into the Sirsiya river in Parsa. An all-party/all-stakeholder meeting has decided to completely stop the discharge of various materials, substances and waste from different industries into the river throughout the Chhath worship period.

The meeting said the decision was made for the convenience of devotees observing fasts during Chhath. Since devotees worship at rivers and reservoirs during the festival, the decision was taken to prevent industrial waste from mixing into the river during the worship period.

As per the decision, no kind of waste or material from industries may be discharged into the Sirsiya river during the worship period.
