The Nepal Thami Samaj has prepared and released a national anthem in the Thami language for the first time.

The anthem was unveiled in Kathmandu on the occasion of the organization's 27th annual general meeting by Bagmati Province Assembly member Thula Thami, Nepal Federation of Indigenous Nationalities Vice-Chair Amrit Sunuwar, Kalinchok Rural Municipality Chair Arjun Prasad Shivakoti, and others.

Provincial Assembly member Thami said having a national anthem in their own mother tongue was a major achievement for the community. Expressing confidence that the song would help unite the Thami community, he stressed the need for everyone to come together for the advancement of their traditions, culture, and community.

Chair Shivakoti pledged that the rural municipality would continue its support for preserving the Thami language, traditions, and culture in the days ahead. Vice-Chair Sunuwar said the anthem would play a role in binding the community together in unity.

Samaj chairperson Ranabahadur Thami called it a matter of joy that a national anthem had been composed in the Thami language itself.

The song was written by Ramesh Thami "Chhadkesalam." Nine singers lent their voices: Shikhar Thami "Bidyalali," Shakti Thami, Tirtha Raj Thami, Manu Thami, Savina Thami, Ramkumar Thami, Kamala Thami, Pramod Thami, and Sundar Thami. Music direction was by Khushi Thami.
