Home minister pledges concrete bridge at Jyamirekhat in Gorkha

Home Minister Sudhan Gurung has pledged to build a concrete bridge at Jyamirekhat in Gorkha.

Locals raised the issue with the home minister when he visited Gandaki Rural Municipality to meet voters, complaining that the lack of a bridge was making it hard to sell their agricultural produce.

According to residents, without a proper road and bridge, vegetables grown in the village cannot be taken to market in time. Because transport is difficult, produce fails to fetch a fair price, and farmers say some vegetables rot unsold in the fields.

They said that despite working day and night to grow their crops, they are unable to earn income commensurate with their effort. The lack of a bridge, they added, affects not only the sale of farm produce but also residents' daily movement.

Locals urged the home minister to prioritize construction of the bridge. After hearing their grievances, Minister Gurung said the process needed for the concrete bridge at Jyamirekhat has already been set in motion.
