Gas sales and cylinder exchange at designated valley sites for Dashain

To prevent a shortage of cooking gas during Dashain, arrangements have been made for gas sales and cylinder exchange at six locations across Kathmandu valley.

The government coordinated the arrangement with the gas industry, the three valley district administration offices and the gas dealers' federation.

Consumers can exchange an empty cylinder of any brand for a filled cylinder of another brand. No extra charge applies for this; only the fixed price of the filled gas must be paid.

According to the Nepal LP Gas Industry Association, this facility will be available until Asoj 31 from 9:30 am to 4:30 pm.

The exchange centers are at Sifal Chaur, Pepsicola, Sukedhara, Kalanki and the Balaju Industrial Area in Kathmandu, and at Harisiddhi in Lalitpur.

Association chairman Diwan Chand said efforts would be made to provide gas to every consumer standing in line. Since the facility began, consumers have been in line since early morning.
