Wild elephant known as 'Sano Dare' found dead in Udayapur paddy field

An adult wild male elephant has been found dead in a paddy field in Belka Municipality-1, Udayapur. The elephant, known as "Sano Dare," was found dead in the field on Tuesday.

The dead elephant is said to have been around 20 to 25 years old. Some media outlets have put its age at around 25 years.

Gajendra Shrestha, chief of the Udayapur Division Forest Office, said the paddy field where the elephant was found dead is about one kilometer from the Koshi Tappu Wildlife Reserve.

Source reports do not say how the elephant died.
