France is set to see nationwide protests again today against inflation, the rising cost of living and government spending cuts. Around 70,000 security personnel are being deployed across the country to control possible protests and clashes.

Last week's protests saw incidents of vandalism, looting and arson. Those demonstrations triggered the most serious urban violence the country has witnessed in years.

Following that violence, France has prepared to deploy a large number of security personnel to control any protests and clashes that may occur this weekend. The security personnel are being mobilized nationwide with the aim of preventing violence.

Protesters have been demonstrating against rising inflation and living costs as well as the government's spending cuts. With plans to take to the streets again today after last week's violence, security arrangements have been tightened.
