Russia and Ukraine agree to temporary ceasefire in Russian-held Ukrainian city of Oleshky

Russia and Ukraine have agreed to implement a temporary ceasefire in Oleshky, a southern Ukrainian city under the control of Russian forces. The agreement is aimed at delivering humanitarian supplies to the city and evacuating civilians.
Dmytro Lubinets, Ukraine's chief negotiator and ombudsman, told the Associated Press (AP) that the ceasefire would begin next Tuesday and remain in place for several days. The ceasefire is set to take effect from October 27.
The ceasefire came about through an initiative by Melania Trump, wife of US President Donald Trump. According to the White House, Melania began working on the issue after learning about the situation in Oleshky during last September's United Nations General Assembly.
Both sides are also reported to be taking part in a new round of peace talks next month.
