Physical progress on the 400 kV transmission line being built to carry power from the Arun-3 hydropower project to India has reached about 60 percent.

The 900 MW Arun-3 project is under construction in Sankhuwasabha. Work on the transmission line is being advanced with the goal of completing it by the time the project begins generating power.

The line will run from Diding through Bhojpur, Khotang and Udayapur, then cross Dhalkebar in Siraha, Mahottari and Dhanusha before reaching Bathnaha on the Indian border. This roughly 217-kilometer line is the main infrastructure for carrying Arun-3's electricity to the Indian market.

According to Deepak Mudbhari, senior divisional engineer at the Investment Board and project chief, compensation distribution, felling of trees in forest areas, and tower erection are all underway simultaneously. He said coordination with relevant agencies is ongoing to resolve land-related issues.
