PM Office directs immediate start of Sunkoshi-Marin project tender under amended law

The Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers has directed that the tender process for the Sunkoshi-Marin Diversion Multipurpose Project, a project of national pride, be started immediately in accordance with the amended act and regulations.
The directive was issued at a meeting held Monday morning at the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers in Singha Durbar. At the meeting, the concerned ministry pledged to complete the project of national pride within the stipulated time.
Questions had been raised over the project's legal compliance after the procurement process was being advanced on the basis of the old provisions even though the new legal arrangement had already come into effect. For this reason, the office directed that the tender process be started under the amended act and regulations instead of proceeding under the old provisions.
The Sunkoshi-Marin Diversion Project is a multipurpose project the government has been advancing as a project of national pride.
