More than 3,000 vehicles delivered during Dashain despite border blockades

Despite blockades at border points with China, auto dealers delivered more than 3,000 vehicles to customers this Dashain. These vehicles had been booked at the Naima Expo and the NADA Auto Show. Customers received vehicles from brands including Dongfeng Nammi, Changan Deepal, Jaecoo, iCAR, BYD, Tata and Leapmotor, among others.

Dashain is considered the main season for vehicle sales. BYD's official dealer, Saimex Inc, delivered around 700 vehicles during Dashain. The company said it had about 1,000 deliveries pending from the NADA Auto Show through Dashain, and had completed them by Navami.

The main border point used to bring vehicles from China was destroyed by floods on Bhadau 10. The Tatopani border point was suddenly closed by China from Bhadau 14. Floods and landslides following rains from Asoj 8 to 11 also shut the Korala border point for two weeks. The remaining customers will receive their vehicles before Tihar.
