Tourist numbers in Koshi fall nearly 22% in the very year declared Tourism Year

The number of foreign tourists visiting Koshi province fell by around 22 percent in the very fiscal year the Koshi provincial government had declared a Tourism Year.
The figure is mentioned in the annual provincial economic activity study report for fiscal year 2082/83, recently released by Nepal Rastra Bank's Biratnagar office. The report shows the decline was mainly driven by fewer tourists from India and other countries.
The drop in foreign tourists has directly affected the province's hotel business and employment. The slowdown in the tourism sector has also been reflected in air services.
