Partial westerly wind effect brings rising cold nationwide; Jumla's temperature drops below zero

As the effect of cold weather gradually increases across the country, minimum temperatures are on a declining trend. The minimum temperature in Jumla, Karnali Province, has dropped below zero.
According to the Weather Forecasting Division of the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology, the country is currently experiencing a partial effect of westerly winds.
The division said partly cloudy conditions are expected over the Himalayan and hilly regions of the country this afternoon. It also said light rainfall is possible in some parts of the country.
Those travelling to villages or elsewhere during Dashain are advised to pay attention to weather conditions. As temperatures continue to fall, the cold is intensifying in the high hills and Himalayan regions.
