Kathmandu Metropolis begins selling local flowers at 33 designated sites for Tihar

Kathmandu Metropolitan City has begun selling locally grown flowers at 33 designated locations across the city. The sale started after the metropolis's Environment Management Department identified the sites for flowers and garlands.
The metropolis coordinated with the Environment Department to designate the sale points so that flowers and garlands grown by Nepali farmers get a fair market and are easier for the public to buy. The sites were designated after the metropolis banned the sale of plastic flower garlands.
Since the sale began, traders and consumers have been seen crowding the designated locations since early morning. Activity around buying and selling flowers has increased in various parts of the metropolis.
Meanwhile, Kathmandu Metropolitan City has seized 336 plastic garlands and 140 bouquets.
