The Troubled Cooperatives Management Committee has returned savings to 235 more depositors of 12 troubled cooperatives.

The committee said priority in this phase was given to small depositors who had saved smaller amounts. The government clarified that the payments were made using loans recovered from these cooperatives and funds raised through asset management.

According to the committee's details, the largest number of depositors paid were from Kantipur Cooperative, where 80 people received their money. Sixty-two depositors from Shiva Shikhar Cooperative and 37 from Oriental Cooperative also benefited.

Twelve depositors of Nepal Financial Cooperative, 11 from Gorkha Cooperative and 10 from Tapai Hamro Cooperative got their savings back. Six depositors of Ideal Yamuna Cooperative and four each from Agriculture Development and Pashupati cooperatives were also on the list.

The committee said the remaining depositors would be paid in groups based on the size of their savings, in phased order, and that returning savings to depositors of the respective cooperatives continues as per prevailing law.
