Final preparations for Ravana effigy burning in Janakpurdham on Dashami

Preparations are in their final stage for the Ravana Vadh (killing of Ravana) program to be held in Janakpurdham tomorrow, Wednesday, on Bijaya Dashami.
Effigies of Ravana along with Meghnath and Kumbhakarna will be burned on the banks of Ganga Sagar and Dhanush Sagar ponds. Janakpurdham has held this program every Dashami for nearly a decade, with organizers Mahavir Yuva Committee making it grander each year.
According to program coordinator Anand Sah, Ravana's effigy this year will stand about 45 feet tall. A team of sculptors from India has been working on the effigy continuously for around 20 days. Sah estimates about 350,000 rupees has been spent on building the effigy so far.
The program will begin tomorrow evening at 6 pm. This year, Ram Giri, head priest of the Ram temple, will perform the Ravana Vadh.
