Contract for road linking Achham's Mangalsen terminated over slow progress; Rs 38.23 crore sought

The contract for the constituency strategic road section connecting Achham's district headquarters, Mangalsen, with rural areas has been terminated after the contractor failed to complete the work on time.

The contract agreement for the road section was signed on Baishakh 16, 2079. The deadline for completing the work was extended to Baishakh 16, 2083, but the work was still not finished even within that extended period. The contract was subsequently terminated.

By the time the contract was terminated, physical progress on the road stood at only 19.83 percent.

Following the termination of the contract, correspondence has been sent asking that Rs 38.23 crore be deposited.
