Work to clear landslide debris and mud began on Sunday morning to reopen the BP Highway, which has been blocked since Saturday due to rain. According to the District Traffic Police Office, Kavrepalanchok, a dozer is being used to clear the road at Gimdibesi in Roshi Rural Municipality.

Continuous rain on Friday and Saturday brought debris and mud from the Khahare stream into Pinthali and Gimdibesi in Roshi, blocking the road. It still appears the highway will take time to fully reopen, affecting passengers and vehicles traveling to Kathmandu.

According to Nepal Police headquarters, the road at Arughat in Gorkha is also fully blocked after a concrete bridge was washed away there. In Khotang, a landslide at Lakuridanda in Halesi Tuwachung Municipality-1 has covered about 15 meters of the Mid-Hill Highway.

In Lalitpur, the Corridor road at Sundarighat is closed after the Bagmati river's level rose, while a landslide at Pangdur and Tarkuche in Bagmati Rural Municipality has blocked the Kanti Lokpath.

Meanwhile, the Prithvi Highway section at Majhimtar in Benighat Rorang Rural Municipality-9, Dhading, will be closed tomorrow, Monday, Kattik 16, from 11 am to 2 pm. The District Administration Office, Dhading, said the Naagdhunga-Muglin Road Project will halt all vehicles during this period to build a skywalk bridge and upgrade the road, and it has urged commuters to use alternative routes during that time.
