Bailey bridge installed at flood-damaged Arughat bridge, Dhading-Gorkha traffic restored

A bailey bridge has been installed at the broken section of the Arughat bridge connecting Gorkha and Dhading, which was damaged by floods in the Budhigandaki River.
The Nepal Army installed the 90-foot-long bailey bridge and handed it over to the Gorkha Road Project. Movement between the two districts had been affected after floods washed away the main concrete motor bridge at Arughat.
With the completion of the bailey bridge construction, transport service in the area has resumed. The bridge lies on the main road network connecting Dhading and Gorkha districts.
Officials said movement between Dhading and Gorkha will now be smoother following the installation of the bailey bridge.
