Army to shower flowers on two Saptari shakti peeths on Mahanawami

On Mahanawami of Bada Dashain, falling on Tuesday, Kartik 3, the Nepali Army will shower flowers by helicopter on two shakti peeths in Saptari. The temples are Chhinnamasta Bhagwati in Sakhada, Chhinnamasta Rural Municipality-3, and Kankalini Bhagwati in Bhardaha, Kankalini Municipality-1.

According to Mahakant Thakur, peethadhish of the Chhinnamasta temple, flowers will be dropped by helicopter on devotees who come for darshan on the morning of Mahanawami. Birendra Majhi, mayor of Hanumannagar Kankalini Municipality, said the Mahasankalpa puja at Kankalini Bhagwati temple will begin at 10 am on Tuesday.

He said the helicopter flower-shower has been scheduled during the same puja. The municipality had already written to the Chief of Army Staff on Asoj 23 requesting a helicopter for the flower shower. Mayor Majhi said the municipality itself would arrange the flowers needed for the shower.

Meanwhile, on the second day of Mahaashtami today, crowds of devotees have thronged the Chhinnamasta Bhagwati and Rajdevi temples in Saptari since early morning.
