Demolition of Deuba's fire-gutted Budhanilkantha house nears completion

Demolition of Nepali Congress's then-president Sher Bahadur Deuba's house in Budhanilkantha, Kathmandu, is in its final stage. The house was set on fire last year during the Gen-Z protests.
After the incident, the Deuba family stayed for a long time in Singapore and Hong Kong. Demolition began after Deuba returned to Kathmandu on Shrawan 28, and the work is still ongoing.
According to sources close to Deuba, once the structure is removed, there is a plan to rent out the land, though the same source said there is no plan to sell it immediately.
The house was completed in 2051 BS, before Deuba first became prime minister. Its construction had begun when Deuba was home minister after the 2048 BS general election.
