Tipper trucks banned across Kavre throughout Dashain

On the occasion of Nepal's great festival of Bada Dashain, tipper trucks have been banned across Kavrepalanchok district from Asoj 31 to Kartik 9. According to the English calendar, the ban will be in effect from October 17 to 26.
The District Administration Office, Kavre, issued a notice stating that tipper truck operation will be completely banned within the district from Fulpati until the full moon (Purnima).
The decision was taken at a meeting of the District Security Committee held on Asoj 27, which decided to request that tipper trucks not be operated within the district.
Assistant Chief District Officer and Information Officer Mahendra Bishwakarma informed about the meeting's decision. He said the step was taken because traffic on major roads in the district, including the BP Highway and the Araniko Highway, increases during Dashain.
He said the ban was imposed with the aim of reducing the risk of possible accidents and making the movement of passenger vehicles smoother and safer. The administration has urged all concerned parties not to operate tipper trucks during the specified period.
