Partly cloudy over hills and mountains, mostly clear in Terai

According to the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology, the country's mountainous and hilly regions will see partly cloudy weather today, while the Terai will remain mostly clear.

The department said westerly winds, along with some monsoon influence, are currently affecting the weather.

The forecast states that light rain or snowfall with thunderbolts is possible at one or two places in the mountainous region as well as in the hilly parts of Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini and Karnali provinces.

Tomorrow, however, only the mountainous region will see partial cloudiness, while the hills and Terai will remain mostly clear, the department said.

Tomorrow, light rain or snowfall is possible at a few places in the mountainous parts of Gandaki, Karnali and Sudurpashchim provinces.

Among major cities, the weather is forecast to remain mostly clear in Biratnagar, Janakpur and Nepalgunj, while Kathmandu, Pokhara and Birendranagar will see partial cloudiness.

Today, temperatures in Biratnagar and Janakpur are expected to reach up to 33 degrees Celsius.

Nepalgunj is forecast to see 32 degrees Celsius, and Birendranagar 30 degrees Celsius.

Pokhara is expected to see 27 degrees Celsius, and Kathmandu 26 degrees Celsius, the department said.

The department's data shows a zero percent chance of rain today in all six of these cities.

The department issued its three-day forecast for Ashwin 28-30 at 8 am today.
