Dry landslide blocks Prithvi Highway in both directions at Ghoptebhir, Chitwan

The Prithvi Highway has been blocked in both directions after a dry landslide hit Ghoptebhir in Ichchhakamana Rural Municipality-4, Chitwan.

According to the District Police Office, Chitwan, the landslide occurred this morning, Kattik 22. Nepal Police said the highway has been completely blocked due to the landslide.

Efforts are underway to clear the landslide and reopen the road. Detailed information on when the road will reopen has not been received.

The Prithvi Highway is the main road connecting Kathmandu with Pokhara, Chitwan and other areas. Those travelling during the Tihar period are advised to check the highway's status before setting out.
