Kaligandaki bridge reopens 18 days after flood washed away its access road

The concrete bridge connecting Ghiring and Dedhgaun over the Kaligandaki river has reopened 18 days after floods in the river washed away its access road.
The access roads on both sides of the bridge, which connects Ghiring Rural Municipality in Tanahun with Dedhgaun in Baudikali Rural Municipality in Nawalpur, were washed away by floods on Asoj 11. Movement across the bridge had come to a halt after the access roads were destroyed.
After the access roads were repaired and the bridge reopened, travel has become easier for commuters in the corridor area.
With the bridge reopening just ahead of Dasain, residents and travelers of both local units have been relieved.
