Fifth day of Navratri: worship of Skandamata today

On the fifth day of Navratri under Bada Dasain, Skandamata, the fifth among the nine Durgas, is being worshipped with due rituals at Dasain houses and prayer rooms today. Today is Thursday, Asoj 29, 2083 BS.

Every year, there is a tradition of worshipping goddess Skandamata on Ashwin Shukla Panchami, the fifth day of the Durga fortnight. On the fifth day of Shardiya Navratri, marked by Ashwin Shukla Panchami, Skandamata is worshipped as the fifth form of Navadurga Bhawani.

Throughout the nine days of Navratri, different forms of Navadurga are worshipped. Along with the worship of the jamara planted on the day of Ghatasthapana, devotees have been regularly worshipping the goddess at Dasain houses and prayer rooms.

With the start of Dasain, festive activity has increased in markets and villages across the country.
