Tithi increase means Mahaashtami again today, Kalratri puja at Hanuman Dhoka tonight

The Nepal Panchang Nirnayak Vikas Samiti has said that because of a tithi increase during this year's Navaratri, Ashtami fell on two days, so the rites of Mahaashtami must also be performed today, Monday, Kattik 2. Although today is the ninth day of Navaratri, the Mahaashtami puja will be performed today as well.

The calendar approved by the committee lists Mahaashtami on both Kattik 1 and Kattik 2. According to the committee, the Mahaashtami rites performed on Kattik 1 must be repeated today as well, at the Dashain Ghar or puja room.

The Kalratri puja held at Hanuman Dhoka in Kathmandu will take place tonight. The main puja performed at Hanuman Dhoka is also being held today.

The committee has said that because Ashtami fell across two days, the Mahaashtami rituals must be completed on both days this year.
