Rain and landslides block roads in Kavre, Khotang and Lalitpur; BP Highway also affected

Continuous rain has triggered floods and landslides that have blocked several road sections in Kavre, Khotang and Lalitpur. Nepal Police Headquarters has given information about the situation.

According to police, the obstructions occurred after Khahare Khola (stream) swept silt and rocks onto the roads and landslides came down at several points. The BP Highway is among the roads that have been blocked.

Police said roads have been blocked at Roshi Rural Municipality-9 in Kavre, among other places. Police said a similar situation exists on various road sections in Khotang and Lalitpur as well.

Vehicle movement in these areas has been affected due to the road blockages. Police said the obstructions occurred as continuous rain increased the frequency of flooding in Khahare Khola and landslides.
