Flood-landslide risk: vehicle movement on Kanti Highway halted at night for two days

Night-time vehicle movement on the Kanti Highway, which connects Kathmandu via Makwanpur, has been halted for two days after continuous rainfall increased the risk of floods and landslides.

The District Administration Office, Makwanpur, has banned traffic movement on the highway from 5pm to 5am today and tomorrow.

The administration made this decision to reduce the risk of floods and landslides at a time when various parts of the country are experiencing rain due to the effect of cyclone Arnab, which developed in the Bay of Bengal. Passengers travelling at night have been requested to plan their journeys accordingly.
