Delhi to bar entry of non-BS-6 vehicles from November 1

India's capital, Delhi, will bar the entry of outside vehicles that do not meet the BS-6 emission standard starting November 1. BS-6 refers to Bharat Stage 6.
Under the winter pollution control plan unveiled by Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, the ban will remain in effect until January 31, 2027. The restriction will apply only to vehicles registered outside Delhi that do not meet the standard.
Electric and CNG-run vehicles, as well as those providing essential services, will be exempt. The overall winter action plan will run until February 28.
Under the plan, a 'no PUC, no fuel' rule will also apply at petrol pumps. Vehicles with an expired Pollution Under Control (PUC) certificate will not be allowed to fill petrol, diesel, CNG or LPG.
