JioHotstar enters Nepal in partnership with Digo

Streaming platform JioHotstar has formally entered the Nepali market in partnership with Nepali OTT platform Digo.
According to the company, JioHotstar's entry into Nepal comes just weeks after it launched services in the United Kingdom, Canada, Singapore, and the Middle East and North Africa region.
Digo is described as the first subscription OTT platform to receive approval from the Government of Nepal. The expansion is said to have been made keeping in mind Nepali audiences' long-standing fondness for, and cultural closeness to, Indian films and television.
Under the partnership, a dedicated JioHotstar section has been created within Digo. It features films such as '12th Fail', 'Bhediya', 'Kesari Chapter 2', and 'Super 30'. JioHotstar originals such as 'Hunkaar' and 'Chiraiyaa', along with daily television programmes and children's content, are also available. Popular shows such as 'Bigg Boss' and 'Koffee with Karan' can also be watched.
According to the company's announced introductory pricing, the monthly fee starts at Rs 249.
