As pollution drops, Himalayan range clearly visible from Kathmandu

With pollution down and the sky clear during the Dashain holidays, the Himalayan range to the north has become clearly visible from Kathmandu Valley.
On Tuesday evening, a captivating view of mountains including Ganesh, Langtang, Manaslu and Himalchuli could be seen from various locations in and around the valley.
From around Kathmandu, the Jugal range can also be seen alongside Langtang and Ganesh. With far fewer vehicles on valley roads during Dashain, air pollution has stayed at a very low level.
As autumn turns to winter, rain or wind reduces the dust and pollution accumulated in the atmosphere, after which the mountains become clearly visible from the valley. However, the view of the mountains can vary depending on weather conditions and the viewing location.
For those who want to view the mountains from within the valley, Chobhar is considered a suitable destination. From Chobhar, one can see a wide view of Kathmandu Valley along with distant hills, and on clear days, the northern mountains all in a single view.
