18 holidays in Kartik, government offices to be open for only 12 days

Government offices will provide services for only 12 days throughout Kartik this year.

Combining holidays for Dashain, Tihar, Nepal Sambat and Chhath with weekly holidays, 18 of the month's 30 days fall as holidays. With the two-day weekly holiday now in effect, the Sundays of Kartik 8 and 15 are also counted as holidays.

Government offices, closed continuously for eight days from Kartik 1, will reopen on Monday, Kartik 9. They will then remain open on Kartik 10, 11, 12 and 13. After holidays on 14 and 15, offices will again be open on 16, 17, 18, 19 and 20. Offices will then be closed continuously for six days from Kartik 21 to 26.

According to the government calendar, offices will be open on Kartik 27 and 30, while 28 and 29 in between will be holidays.

Earlier, in the 31-day month of Asoj, government offices were also operational for only 22 days, meaning they were closed for 9 days that month.
