Harry Kane and Alexia Putellas win 2026 Ballon d'Or

Bayern Munich star striker Harry Kane and Barcelona captain Alexia Putellas have won the 2026 Ballon d'Or title. Kane claimed the prestigious individual award in the men's category, while Putellas won it in the women's category.

With this win, the 33-year-old English striker has become the first English player in 25 years to win the Ballon d'Or. Before him, England's Michael Owen had won the award in 2001.

No English player had won the award since Owen. Kane has won the title while playing for German club Bayern Munich.

Alexia Putellas, who won the Ballon d'Or in the women's category, is the captain of Spanish club Barcelona.
