Over 10,000 attend Nepathya's first Itahari concert, grand evening in Gangtok too

Folk-rock band Nepathya performed live at Itahari Stadium for the first time.
Music lovers from various districts of eastern Nepal attended "Nepathya in Concert 2026," organised by Purwanchal Events Pvt. Ltd. and promoted by Itahari Sub-Metropolitan City.
The stadium, set up to hold around 10,000 spectators, drew a bigger-than-expected crowd.
Lead singer Amrit Gurung greeted the audience with "Namaste Itahari, namaste Koshi Province," recalling that it was the season of Tihar preparations and rice harvesting.
He said the band, which has enjoyed audiences' affection for 35 years, was happy to perform in Itahari for the first time.
The band performed songs including "Chhekyo Chhekyo," "Jomsome Bazarma," "Resham," "Sun Sun Sainli" and "Karnali."
Earlier, Nepathya also held a concert at Paljor Stadium in Gangtok, Sikkim, India, on Sunday night.
The event, originally scheduled months in advance for Saturday, was held on Sunday night instead.
While the performance was underway inside, an equally large crowd of fans gathered at the gates outside trying to get in.
To manage the crowd, traffic was halted on the surrounding roads and a large number of security personnel were deployed.
Gangtok residents have called the concert historic.
