ACC confirms Nepal retains ODI status; ICC ratification pending

The Asian Cricket Council (ACC) has said Nepal has retained its One Day International (ODI) status after beating Oman by 10 runs on Monday in the ICC Men's Cricket World Cup League 2. The ACC shared the information through social media.

However, the ICC has not yet commented on the matter. Paras said official confirmation from the ICC is still pending.

Batting first at Al Amerat ground in Oman, Nepal scored 280 runs. In reply, Oman could manage only 270 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in their allotted 50 overs. With this win, Nepal finished its League 2 campaign in sixth place within the top six.

Nepal's main goal had been to reach the top four. As results did not go as expected in the tournament, that possibility had already ended, leaving Nepal needing to finish within the top six to retain ODI status.

National team player Sandeep Lamichhane expressed happiness over Nepal retaining its ODI status.
