Financial authority of three local units revoked, accounts frozen over unimplemented transfer orders

The Ministry of Land Management, Cooperatives, Federal Affairs and General Administration has revoked the financial authority of chief administrative officers at three local units after its transfer decisions were not implemented.

The ministry has frozen the accounts of Kanakasundari Rural Municipality in Jumla, Jirabhawani Rural Municipality in Parsa, and Budhanilkantha Municipality in Kathmandu.

The ministry revoked the financial authority of the chief administrative officers at these municipalities after staff who were supposed to move to new postings following the transfer stayed on at their existing units instead. With the ministry's transfer decision not being carried out, financial transactions at these three municipalities have been halted.
