Government prepares to amend 494 sections of 59 laws ahead of infrastructure summit

The government is preparing to amend 59 laws ahead of the Nepal Infrastructure Summit 2026. Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Sobita Gautam shared this information at a press conference organized to discuss preparations for the summit.

According to Minister Gautam, work is underway to amend 494 sections of those laws. The amendment proposals have been put forward to create an investment-friendly environment in the country and to remove the policy hurdles seen in infrastructure development.

The Nepal Infrastructure Summit, to be held in the capital on Mangsir 23 and 24, will present 23 major and strategic infrastructure projects worth a total of 2,453 billion rupees.
