Writ by sacked IGP Dan Bahadur Karki not registered, he rejects advisor post

A writ petition filed by Dan Bahadur Karki, who was removed from the post of Inspector General of Police (IGP), seeking his reinstatement could not be registered at the Supreme Court on Thursday. The Supreme Court's administration has kept the writ aside for study, and a decision on its registration is still pending, officials said.
The Council of Ministers, at its meeting on Wednesday, removed Karki as IGP and appointed Dr. Manoj Kumar KC as the new IGP. For Karki, a new position titled "Special Security Advisor" was created at the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers. It is against that decision that Karki has approached the Supreme Court.
Karki has rejected the post of "Special Security Advisor." Although a separate office was set up for him in room number 207 at the Prime Minister's Office, he did not go to collect the letter related to his appointment.
