Construction of the approach road to the Maldhunga bridge, damaged by flooding in the Kaligandaki river on Asoj 11, has reached its final stage. The bridge, which connects Baglung and Parbat, has been out of operation for 14 days.

The Nepali Army, Nepal Police and Armed Police Force have been deployed for the repair work. They have been working continuously for the past 10 days, and the repair work is progressing rapidly.

According to Infrastructure Development Minister Sunil Lamsal, work on the gabion wire mesh and soil filling is expected to be completed by tonight, after which preparations will be made to resume traffic.

The closure of the bridge has affected movement between Baglung and Parbat. Traffic on the bridge is expected to resume once work on the approach road is complete.
