Over 600 workers file complaints with department over unpaid festival allowance

More than 600 workers have filed complaints saying they did not receive their festival allowance during Dashain.

According to the Department of Labour and Occupational Safety, more than 600 workers registered complaints via email and the department's portal, within office hours, before Dashain.

The Labour Act requires employers to pay workers a festival allowance. Citing this provision, the workers have complained to the department that they did not receive this payment.
