Justice Phuyal, embroiled in row over meeting with Enam Sapkota, steps off bench, goes on leave

Supreme Court Justice Hari Prasad Phuyal has recused himself from case hearings as of Tuesday. He has been on leave since today.

According to Nepal Live, Justice Phuyal was drawn into controversy over a meeting with the controversial figure Enam Sapkota. Following that controversy, he stopped sitting on the bench.

He is reported to not sit on the bench from Tuesday until Kartik 20. Setopati has also reported that Justice Phuyal is on leave.

Sources have not provided further details on whether he will return to the bench after his leave ends.
