Nepal have been knocked out of the ACC U-19 Asia Cup cricket tournament, currently underway in Oman, with one group-stage match still remaining.

This was Nepal's second consecutive defeat after losing to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) by seven wickets on Sunday. In their first match, Nepal had lost to India by 10 wickets.

Having lost the toss and batted first at Al Amerat ground, Nepal were bowled out for 153 runs in 41 overs. Sohel Kunwar top-scored for Nepal with 33, while Sachin Bhatt made 32.

For the UAE, Nishaam Khan took 5 wickets, captain Ayan Misbah took 3, and Nurullah Ayobi took 2.

In reply, the UAE reached the target for the loss of 3 wickets in 34.4 overs. Misbah led the team to victory with an unbeaten 75 off 104 balls. For Nepal, Sushil Rawal, Nitesh Patel and captain Bipin Sharma took one wicket each.

Nepal's elimination was confirmed the same day after Pakistan beat India by 3 wickets, taking Pakistan to 4 points from two matches. Since at least one of India and UAE will reach 4 points from their remaining match against each other, Nepal cannot finish in the group's top two.

Nepal will play their final group match against Pakistan on Tuesday.
