ANNFSU dispute: Five office-bearers oppose general secretary's circular

A dispute has become public within the UML-affiliated student organization, the All Nepal National Free Students' Union (ANNFSU). Five central office-bearers of the organization have strongly objected to a circular recently issued by the general secretary, calling it unconstitutional and arbitrary.
Those objecting include vice-chair Bikash Shrestha, deputy general secretary Kamal Joshi, and secretaries Akash Gharti, Samim Babu Khan and Gopal Nepal. In a joint statement, they claimed the circular runs contrary to the organization's institutional decision.
According to the statement, a central office-bearers' meeting was held at RR Campus on Asoj 22, chaired by chair Deepak Dhami. Party central member and student in-charge Rashmi Acharya was the chief guest at the meeting.
According to the five office-bearers, the general secretary ignored the consensus of that meeting and issued the circular on his own. They protested what they called the removal of elected office-bearers, and said a procedurally proper office-bearers' meeting would soon be convened to correct the error.
