'CEO roundtable' planned for PM's India visit: Investment Board, Nikki hold talks

Ahead of Prime Minister Balendra Shah's upcoming visit to India, Investment Board Nepal and the Nepal-India Chamber of Commerce and Industry have held talks on organizing a roundtable meeting of chief executives from Nepal and India.
The meeting, held at the Investment Board's office in New Baneshwar, focused on increasing Indian investment in Nepal and expanding economic cooperation between the two countries.
Participants included Chamber President Kunal Kayal, outgoing president Sunil KC, and vice-president Gaurav Tyal, along with the board's chief executive officer Yanki Ukyab and joint secretary Bhupendra Thapa.
The discussion emphasized strengthening public-private cooperation and attracting new investment through B2B interactions. President Kayal said the chamber has a strong network with Indian business organizations and that the contribution of Indian industries operating in Nepal needs to be highlighted.
Vice-president Tyal pointed to potential cooperation in specialized health services, higher education, transport, logistics and infrastructure. CEO Ukyab said investment facilitation and promotion require a systematic approach and concrete, well-prepared proposals from the private sector.
Participants also discussed drawing up a clear agenda for the roundtable, identifying priority sectors, and carefully selecting participating companies. Both sides said they would continue institutional cooperation.
