Tribhuvan University to hold convocation in all seven provinces this year

Tribhuvan University (TU) will hold its convocation ceremony in all seven provinces starting this year. Previously, the university had held this ceremony only in Kathmandu.

Separate applications for participation were sought from each province, but the number of applications from the provinces has fallen short of expectations.

According to TU Controller of Examinations Laxman Paudel, around 95,500 students have been approved on the graduation list. Of them, only about 21,300 have applied to take part in the ceremony, which is less than a quarter of the eligible number.

The most applications, around 14,700, have come from Bagmati province. About 2,200 applications have come from Gandaki, around 2,000 from Koshi, and about 1,600 from Lumbini. Only around 360 applications have come from Madhesh, about 280 from Sudurpashchim, and around 160 from Karnali.
